Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is it all about?

We are a volunteering association made by students who want to improve the quality of life at Politecnico for every student. We do that by offering projects and services through our three sections, from which comes the association’s name.

2. Dialogue

They look after the free and anonymous listening services via email (DEBhug) and telegram chat (DEBbot). The students who are part of it have been trained by the volunteers of Telefono Amico, and they make available their time to listen to you.

3. Explore

They gather in a single place all the information about university services, student associations and teams which work at the university, in order to provide everything students need to get involved in life at university.

4. Bond

It aims to improve social life in university environments, through group activities and training events aimed at making students’ communication and socialization skills more effective.

5. Why?

What unites all of us volunteers is the desire to create a community inside the university where cooperation and mutual support are the norm. Such a competitive environment often generates situations of discomfort and isolation that do not find an outlet anywhere, worsening the experience of those who live them. An organized network of projects and services to support everyone can reverse this trend.

6. How do DEBhug and DEBbot work?

The service aims to relieve stress and tension for students at Politecnico, providing them with a space in which to let off steam and speak anonymously. If you’ve had a bad day, if you’ve finally passed that exam you’ve been carrying around for years, if you want to tell something or just if you’ve slammed your little finger against the door and want to scream at someone, we’re here for you! To talk to us you may write anonymously to the @DialogueExploreBondBOT Telegram bot, or send us an email at the [email protected] adress.

You will not be asked for or provided with any personal data. You will be answered by a student of the Politecnico and member of the DEB association, who has chosen to dedicate free time to carry out this service. All requests sent to the bot are automatically queued and fulfilled in order of arrival, so we recommend that you do not cancel your request to avoid losing your priority.

7. What type of data do you collect?

We do not collect any type of personal data. If you choose to contact us via the Telegram bot we only save a unique identifier (Telegram ID, NOT your username. We cannot track you or access your profile) and we do not have access to your phone number or other personal information. If you call us on the phone your number will be hidden and we will not be able to see or save it.
